NEXT architecture renovated the first floor lobby of The Cascade Office Building at 225 North Shore Drive in Pittsburgh, PA. The design for the lobby space re-imagined the existing warm hues, and architectural elements, by incorporating various natural materials and tones in a fresh and modern way. The existing faux beam elements along the upper portion of the perimeter walls were simplified and highlighted with new finishes and lighting. This element now leads your eye to the central feature wall behind the reception desk. NEXT designed this illuminated, pine feature wall with moss accents to create movement and visual interest within an otherwise stagnant and symmetrical space. The stone facade of the reception desk, the artwork, and warm furniture fabrics, pair nicely with the modern and eclectic lighting.
